Why business isn't for brown girls

Society, culture and our own insecurities tell us that business isn't for the average coloured or cultured person. That the odds are against us. This workshop will play on that irony and share key skills, which implemented short and long term can help a women of colour propel as a business leader, female founder and share her Intrapreneurial mindset to build confidence. This workshop is about sharing the knowledge, failures and tricks which have inevitablely helped brown girls rise and can enable us to beat those odds.

Sonya Barlow

Sonya Barlow is a Rising Star in technology, as well the Founder of Like Minded Females (LMF), a social enterprise to empower females and drive cultural change. In 2019, Sonya was able to give her TED talk on how we can use technology to build communities. Some of her awards include The Rising Star 2017 and UK tech business women of the year 2018 finalist PWC. Sonya has been published in the Metro newspaper, makes regular appearances on the BBC and worked with global clients to drive diversity initiatives such as Vodafone, PWC, Santander, Taboola, British Embassy Lithuania and spoken at global tech conferences inc Women go Tech Lithuania. Sonya believes in leading on opportunities globally to create a Tech community and wants to empower women to break their own status quo!!!
