She shares her eclectic story about why she never felt STEM enough (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and how FIRST UK is inspiring young people with role models and young people to see themselves in STEM."

Patrice, The Storyteller, owns all things brand, marketing and comms at FIRST® UK – a robotics charity empowering young people to explore, challenge and grow into innovators who will take on tomorrow’s challenges. FIRST is the world’s largest robotics programme now on UK soil.   Operating across all channels and events, she builds a narrative that resonates with industry and education, making sure that everyone feels a part of the experience. Patrice meandered in and out of tech, first designing games, then managing tech marketing campaigns within digital and creative agencies. And later leading comms programmes at Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s Open Data Institute, developing influencer strategies and R&D campaigns.   She advocates for smashing mental health preconceptions and challenging true inclusion in tech, while living with anxiety and well... being a bloody difficult woman. When she’s not working, you can find her binge-watching documentaries, dad dancing with her kids, or stumbling off of her scooter.
